Fitness for Duty/Employment
LMHA conducts fitness-for-duty evaluations, which is an assessment, usually requested by an employer, to determine if a current employee is able to perform essential job functions because of psychological or psychiatric conditions.
Parental Fitness Evaluations
LMHA provides Parental Fitness Evaluations. They are usually requested by the Court, attorneys, state agencies/social services, and parents. Such evaluations usually include interviews with parents and children, psychological testing, observations, review of records (health, academic, etc.), and interviewing collateral contacts such as teachers, daycare providers or family physicians. Parental Fitness Evaluations attempts to assess each parents’ level of parenting skills, as well as each parents’ current mental health functioning with the goal of protecting the child’s best interest.
Pre-Employment Evaluations
LMHA also provides pre-employment evaluations, which is a specialized examination of an applicant’s psychological suitability for a public safety position. These positions include, but are not limited to, positions where incumbents have arrest authority or the legal authority to detain and confine individuals, as well as positions dealing with youth (e.g., school settings).
